Listen to John 19:16-29
16(A)Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified. Then they took Jesus [a]and led Him away.
The King on a Cross(B)
17(C)And He, bearing His cross, (D)went out to a place called the Place of a Skull, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha, 18where they crucified Him, and (E)two others with Him, one on either side, and Jesus in the center. 19(F)Now Pilate wrote a title and put it on the cross. And the writing was:
JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20Then many of the Jews read this title, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin.
21Therefore the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but, ‘He said, “I am the King of the Jews.” ’ ”
22Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
23(G)Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took His garments and made four parts, to each soldier a part, and also the tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven from the top in one piece. 24They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be,” that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says:
(H)“They divided My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.”
Therefore the soldiers did these things.
Behold Your Mother
25(I)Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of (J)Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and (K)the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, (L)“Woman, behold your son!” 27Then He said to the disciple, “Behold your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her (M)to his own home.
It Is Finished
28After this, Jesus, [b]knowing that all things were now accomplished, (N)that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 29Now a vessel full of sour wine was sitting there; and (O)they filled a sponge with sour wine, put it on hyssop, and put it to His mouth.

16Finally Pilate handed him over to them to be crucified.(A)
The Crucifixion of Jesus(B)
So the soldiers took charge of Jesus. 17Carrying his own cross,(C) he went out to the place of the Skull(D) (which in Aramaic(E) is called Golgotha). 18There they crucified him, and with him two others(F)—one on each side and Jesus in the middle.
19Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: jesus of nazareth,(G) the king of the jews.(H) 20Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city,(I) and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. 21The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.”(J)
22Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
23When the soldiers crucified Jesus, they took his clothes, dividing them into four shares, one for each of them, with the undergarment remaining. This garment was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
24“Let’s not tear it,” they said to one another. “Let’s decide by lot who will get it.”
This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled(K) that said,
“They divided my clothes among them
and cast lots for my garment.”[a](L)
So this is what the soldiers did.
25Near the cross(M) of Jesus stood his mother,(N) his mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.(O) 26When Jesus saw his mother(P) there, and the disciple whom he loved(Q) standing nearby, he said to her, “Woman,[b] here is your son,” 27and to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.
The Death of Jesus(R)
28Later, knowing that everything had now been finished,(S) and so that Scripture would be fulfilled,(T) Jesus said, “I am thirsty.” 29A jar of wine vinegar(U) was there, so they soaked a sponge in it, put the sponge on a stalk of the hyssop plant, and lifted it to Jesus’ lips.

16Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.
17And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:
18Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.
19And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was Jesus Of Nazareth The King Of The Jews.
20This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.
21Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.
22Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.
23Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.
24They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
25Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

28After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.
29Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.
